Monique is our Director of Music at All Souls Community Church.  Involved in church music since the age of 16, Monique loves working with people of all ages and performing music from all genres.  She enjoys the diversity and inclusivity of All Souls Music Department. 

Monique holds degrees from Aquinas College, Central Michigan University, and a Doctorate in Music from Michigan State University and has held positions on the faculties of Aquinas College, Concordia College, Ferris State University, Michigan State University, and Muskegon Community College.    She founded, produced and directed all thirteen productions of the IHM Summer Theatre Program.  Monique founded the Girls Choral Academy in 1997, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising self esteem in girls through choral music.  Her choirs have received numerous awards. In 2013, Monique left Girls Choral Academy to found Mind Meets Music a non-profit organization formed to advance literacy and higher order thinking skills as well as enhance brain development through music, in at risk early elementary students.  

Monique was the 2002 recipient of the YWCA TRIBUTE! Award for Arts and Communications.  In 2005, she was one of four American conductors chosen to study with renown Toronto Children’s Chorus director Jean Ashworth Bartle.  In 2012 she was selected as the Outstanding Alumna of Aquinas College.
