Our Leadership
Meet the Board of Trustees

Joseph Kozakiewicz – President
Member of Safety

Hi there—I joined All Souls shortly before Covid times, so I am excited now to have an opportunity to become more actively involved in the church. I am a lifelong churchgoer, but only at All Souls have I felt I belonged to a church whose teachings I could wholeheartedly support and defend. In August 2023, I will begin my 20th year directing a child welfare program for social work and law students at MSU. In my personal time, I enjoy road cycling, opera, jazz, a wide variety of books and movies, and Duolingo, the app that got me through the lockdown, and high-intensity workouts. My family (wife, seven children, one grandchild) joins me in some of these activities, not so much in some others.
Amy Preston – Vice President

I have been attending All Souls since January 2024 and immediately felt welcomed by our warm and inviting community. Volunteering with event activities and participation in groups has helped me meet many wonderful people here. I look forward to our future. I am a local attorney, have past experience on church boards and committees, and hope to serve All Souls on its Board.

Nancy Garber – Trustee

I found All Souls in early 2022 when I was searching for a spiritual community. At that time, we were still meeting on Zoom. When we gathered for the first time in person, I remember the feeling of not having to edit anything to embrace UUism. I am passionate about my volunteer work advocating for kids in foster care. I’m also involved in local politics and surprised myself by finding my niche in fundraising. My creative outlet is sewing, especially upcycling vintage fabrics into clothes.
Nancy joined the ASCC Board of Trustees in 2026.
Julia VanderHart – Trustee

I started attending All Souls in 2022 and became a member later that year. I am so grateful to have found a community of such belonging and acceptance. I am very involved in our Religious Exploration program and love creating space for our young souls to grow while learning how unique and loved they are. I also help organize a small group. Outside of church, I love sewing, reading, and, most of all, going on adventures with my son.
Julia joined the ASCC Board of Trustees in 2026.
Ben Crosser – Trustee

My partner and I started casually attending All Souls in 2015 and became official members in 2018, shortly after our first son was born. The people and ideas I found resonated with me, and I knew it would be a good place for my family. I’m motivated by the idea of creating beauty from something discarded or broken. I’ve done this with childhood toys, bikes, my first house, and through this community, I hope to do the same with the larger world around me. When I’m not busy with my kids, I love lending a helping hand to friends.
Ben joined the ASCC Board of Trustees in 2026.
